What is your primary product or service?
Sale of Eppie Products...mainly Eppie the pew baby Doll...AND...Healthcare Products
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
A dear friend let me help make the first doll for her daughter's birthday. I gave them as gifts...someone wanted to buy one...someone wanted to sell them in her gift store...and I registered Things of Joy,Inc. and Trademarked Eppie in 1996...and have now reached my ultimate goal to be 100% missions...sending Eppie the pew baby dolls to missionaries and orphanages in the USA and around the world. I am was a high school chemistry teacher in the '60s and did biochemical research at the Univ. of Texas in Austin and became full-time Mom and started direct sales in the '70s.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I now have a separate company that is totally non-profit...Eppie Everywhere Foundation, Inc. and I am currently working on getting registered as a 501c3. Things of Joy, Inc. is my retail business that makes 100% donations to EEF, Inc. from all sales made. These sales are made locally and from phoned in orders...from our web site www.thingsofjoy.com, and from eBay.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
During the '90s I had 46 retailers selling Eppie dolls and medical suppliers selling the Home Healthcare items. I now have 5 local retailers because I now have a 45 member Volunteer Pew Crew that meets every Tuesday to prep dolls to be sent with groups going on Mission Trips to service missionaries, orphanages, and hospitals in the USA and around the world.

I work from my home in Waleska, GA and many local people come here to buy product in order to get my signature and personal message to the child written on the dolls. Mostly, local people call to ask where they can purchase an Eppie.
